Fans got a thrill when Tanner Becker and Kyler Ammann connected against Onaga. The connection was good for 81 yards, the longest such play in Flint Hills this season.
Lyndon added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Northern Heights, 36-0. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Herington's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Becker threw for 343 and 4 touchdowns and Ammann had 245 yards receiving. On the ground Chayanne Morales chipped in 143 yards. Morales helped Herington's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 33 yards.
Josh Owens made the biggest impact on defense this week as Lyndon beat the Wildcats. The 6-foot-0 senior forced 1 fumble and recorded 1 fumble.
He went 21-39 with 2 interceptions.
Ammann had an awesome week catching the football as the Railroaders lost to the Buffaloes. He caught 13 passes for 245 yards.
Becker put up the best numbers in passing as Herington lost to Onaga.
On the heels of Joe Walsh and Owens, Rod Stallbaumer's team has had great success on offense. Walsh leads the league in passing with 1,293 yards, while Owens has rushed for 1,499 yards this season. Tom Flax's team's Ammann leads the league in receiving yards with 760 on 42 catches.
Cody Smallwood has rushed for 944 yards on 134 carries so far this year.
At the moment, the Tigers are in first, while Northern Heights is in fifth.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Lyndon takes on Greg French's team. The Tigers have allowed 120 points this season, while the Wildcats have given up 212. Lyndon allowed 0 points last week as it beat Northern Heights.
Osage City and Central Heights played the most contested game in the league this week, with Osage City eventually emerging with a 25-22 victory. Ryan Haskins threw for 247 yards and 4 touchdowns and ran for 29 yards in the win.
