Basketball Recap: Lorenzo Peral's Big Game Can't Quite Lead New Mexico Military Institute over Bosque

New Mexico Military Institute and Bosque squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but New Mexico Military Institute had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bosque Bobcats by a score of 48-45. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

New Mexico Military Institute's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lorenzo Peral, who shot 63% from the field on his way to 10 points along with seven boards and five assists. Another player making a difference was Mihail Parada, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.

Peral wasn't the only one working in the assist department: New Mexico Military Institute was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bosque only seven assists.

Josiah Wilson was his usual excellent self, going 8-for-18 en route to 26 points and six steals for Bosque. Owen Custer also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

New Mexico Military Institute's defeat dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Bosque, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

New Mexico Military Institute does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bosque, they have already played their next game, a 51-49 win against Tularosa on the 12th.
