Preview: Landmark Christian War Eagles vs. Elite Scholars Academy Royal Knights
After five games on the road, Landmark Christian is heading back home. They will take on the Elite Scholars Academy Royal Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After soaring to 57 points the game before, Landmark Christian were a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Columbia, falling 63-18. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Landmark Christian has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Melody Painter, who scored ten points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nikolette Soden, who scored five points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Elite Scholars Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight defeat. They fell to Redan 44-38.
Despite the loss, Elite Scholars Academy got a solid performance out of Hannah Williams, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That was a full 39.5% of Elite Scholars Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Sanieya Largent, who scored five points along with six steals.
Landmark Christian's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4. As for Elite Scholars Academy, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-16.
Landmark Christian strolled past Elite Scholars Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 45-27. Does Landmark Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Elite Scholars Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
