Basketball Recap: Six Straight Home Wins for Mahpiya Luta

There's no place like home for Mahpiya Luta, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers by a score of 63-56 on Saturday. The Crusaders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Golddiggers, too.

Mahpiya Luta's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Okte Spotted Eagle, who posted ten points. What's more, Spotted Eagle also posted a 67% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Braylon Little was another key player, putting up 11 points and five rebounds.

Mahpiya Luta's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points over those games. As for Lead-Deadwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Looking ahead, Mahpiya Luta will head out on the road to face off against St. Thomas More at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lead-Deadwood, they will be playing at home against Bison at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
