Baseball Preview: McEwen Warriors vs. Houston County Fighting Irish
For the second straight game, McEwen will face off against Houston County. The Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Fighting Irish at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. McEwen is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times McEwen and Houston County had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Warriors took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fighting Irish on Tuesday.
For Houston County's part, Connor Mahoney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 13 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ryder Forrester, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
