A.C. Flora dropped their record down to 22-5 on Saturday, which also ended the team's 13-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the York Cougars by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Falcons couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for York, the win was the 18th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games.

For York's part, Layla Clayton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 14 Ks. Clayton has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, York secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Natalie Dover, who went 2-for-3 with one run. That's the most hits Dover has posted since back in April.
