Volleyball Recap: Avery Spencer and Madelynn Chauffe Secure Win for Lakeland Preparatory

Lakeland Preparatory waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Bolivar Central Tigers as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-19, 25-9.

Lakeland Preparatory was led to victory by Madelynn Chauffe and Avery Spencer. Chauffe had four digs and two aces, while Spencer had 14 digs and five aces. What's more, Chauffe racked up seven assists, the most she's had since back in October of 2024. Abby Stevens also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Lakeland Preparatory was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bolivar Central only served four aces.

The win got Lakeland Preparatory back to even at 4-4. As for Bolivar Central, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Lakeland Preparatory has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Covington on the 2nd. As for Bolivar Central, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Middleton at 4:30 p.m. on the 8th.
