Recap: Hanks Knights vs. Bel Air Highlanders
The Hanks Knights had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 43-36 win over Bel Air. That's two games straight that Hanks has won by exactly seven points.
Hanks' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Israel Gonzalez, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Gonzalez hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Isaac Reveles, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Bel Air still got an impressive performance from Anthony Favela, who scored ten points along with two steals. Korryn Barnes was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
The win got Hanks back to even at 13-13. As for Bel Air, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-13.
Hanks will head out on the road to square off against Horizon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Horizon is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Bel Air, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Ysleta at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Ysleta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
