Baseball Recap: Friday's Win Is Stillwater's Eighth in Last Ten Outings

Stillwater barely beat Park the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Ponies blew past the Wolfpack 11-1 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Ponies, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Sullivan Conlin tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over 4.2 innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jack Runk, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Fredkove, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Stillwater was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in six consecutive matches.

Stillwater has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Park, they dropped their record down to 3-15 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Stillwater will head out to challenge Cretin-Derham Hall at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Park, they will be playing at home against Owatonna at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
