Basketball Game Preview: Ellsworth Panthers vs. Prescott Cardinals

Ellsworth is 0-10 against Prescott since January of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Ellsworth Panthers face off against the Prescott Cardinals at 7:00 p.m.

Last Thursday, Ellsworth lost to Somerset at home by a 52-34 margin. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Prescott entered their tilt with St. Croix Falls on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victor by a 52-29 margin over the Saints. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 196th, while the Saints are ranked 421st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory got Prescott back to even at 6-6. As for Ellsworth, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Ellsworth came up short against Prescott in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 63-52. Can Ellsworth avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
