Soccer Game Preview: Millington Central vs. Lakeland Preparatory

The Millington Central Trojans will take on the Lakeland Preparatory Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Millington Central's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Sunday, Millington Central and Dyersburg finished up their contest with a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Lakeland Preparatory had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Cordova 7-2 on Thursday. It was an even better day for Eli Coleman as he scored four goals for his team.

Millington Central's draw gives them a new season record of 1-1-2. As for Lakeland Preparatory, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Millington Central was able to grind out a solid win over Lakeland Preparatory when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Millington Central since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
