Softball Recap: Lamar Comes Up Short

Lamar lost against Mt. Vernon on April 9th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tigers came up short against the Mountaineers, falling 19-4.

Kelby Wolf was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Maylee Rawlings, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.

Lamar's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Mt. Vernon, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 20-5.

Lamar wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 12-1 win against Butler on the 25th. As for Mt. Vernon, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 defeat against Skyline on the 25th.
