Recap: Lowndes Vikings vs. Colquitt County Packers
The Lowndes Vikings pushed their score all the way to 34 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 52-34 bruising from Colquitt County. While losing is never fun, Lowndes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Colquitt County is ranked fourth).
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacarre' Fleming, who rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. Fleming's longest rush was for an incredible 71 yards. Marvis Parrish was another key contributor, rushing for 88 yards.
Colquitt County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Neko Fann, who threw for 347 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt. The team also got some help courtesy of Ramsey Dennis, who rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries.
Lowndes' loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Colquitt County, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-0.
Lowndes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Colquitt County is also done with their season.
