Soccer Game Preview: Andress vs. Monterey

The Andress Eagles will challenge the Monterey Plainsmen at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Andress is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let Hanks get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The result was nothing new for Andress, who have now won seven matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Mileena Griego and Arleth Arroyo scored all six of Andress' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 42 goals.

Monterey hadn't beaten Wylie on the road since February 11, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. Monterey skirted past Wylie 1-0.

Andress' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those three games. As for Monterey, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4-3.

Andress suffered a grim 6-1 defeat to Monterey in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Andress avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
