LeRoy typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Normal Community proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Panthers. Winning may never get old, but the Ironmen sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Ava Prevo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hayley Michels, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Haley Baughman, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs.
Normal Community's record now sits at 8-9. As for LeRoy, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-3.
