Baseball Game Preview: Valley Vikings vs. Cimarron-Memorial Spartans

Valley hasn't had much luck against Cimarron-Memorial recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Vikings will square off against the Spartans at 3:30 p.m. Valley has given up an average of 17.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Valley came up short against Cimarron-Memorial on Tuesday, falling 13-2.

For Cimarron-Memorial's part, Lucas Engen looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Engen a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Gauge Elder was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Cavallone, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Cimarron-Memorial hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Cimarron-Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-18.
