Baseball Recap: Wiregrass Ranch Comes Up Short

Wiregrass Ranch lost against Cypress Creek back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bulls fell 14-9 to the Coyotes. While the Bulls didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Coyotes 7-3 in the first period.

Pedro Castro made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Jorge Carrero also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Wiregrass Ranch has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Cypress Creek, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-9.

Wiregrass Ranch and Cypress Creek are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Bulls will take on Wharton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wiregrass Ranch's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Cypress Creek, they will challenge Lecanto at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
