Jay County is a perfect 4-0 against Winchester Community since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Golden Falcons at 5:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Jay County comes in on three and Winchester Community on six.
Jay County took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Heritage, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Jay County skirted past Heritage 11-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Jay County has posted since April 24th.

The team relied heavily on Joesph Geesaman, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Leighton Brown, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Jay County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.
Meanwhile, Winchester Community sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Northeastern on Thursday.
Landen Porfidio made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Porfidio was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.
Porfidio wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jace Allen, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Winchester Community's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Jay County, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.
Jay County took their win against Winchester Community in their previous meeting back in April of 2016 by a conclusive 20-1 score. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Golden Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
