Basketball Recap: Dayton Christian Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Dayton Christian lost to Fort Loramie back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Dayton Christian WARRIORS came out on top against the Fort Loramie Redskins by a score of 61-51. Given the WARRIORS's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while the Redskins are ranked 497th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Redskins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maxwell Maurer, who posted 15 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. What's more, Maurer also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Landen Drees, who had 11 points.

Dayton Christian's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Fort Loramie, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Dayton Christian will head out to take on Twin Valley South at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fort Loramie, they will take on Houston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
