Volleyball Recap: Prout Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Classical + How To Watch

Prout faced Classical in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Crusaders lost 3-0 to the Purple. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Purple apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

While Prout was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Classical's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-18, 25-19.

Prout's loss came despite strong showings from Lily Cui and Olivia Torok. Cui had seven digs and two aces, while Torok had five digs and two aces. Torok is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Prout has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Classical, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Prout wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against South Kingstown on the 24th. As for Classical, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against North Kingstown on the 23rd.
