Basketball Recap: Tamalpais Takes a Loss

Tamalpais was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-44 heartbreaker at the hands of the Terra Linda Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Red Tailed Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 770th, while the Trojans are ranked 152nd).

When it comes to explaining why Tamalpais lost, don't look at Porthos Oliveira. Despite the final result, he posted 20 points. Ashton Sadow was another key player, putting up six points.

Tamalpais' defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Terra Linda, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.

Tamalpais will face off against Novato at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Terra Linda, they will challenge Redwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Redwood has won six straight at home, while Terra Linda won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
