Volleyball Recap: Burlingame Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Burlingame was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Carlmont Scots. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Scots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The 3-2 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Burlingame lost were decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 22-25, 19-25, 25-23, 16-14.

Despite the loss, Burlingame still got an impressive performance from Elaina Newman, who had eight digs and four aces. Newman is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 18 every time she's taken the court this season. Catarina Brione also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Burlingame's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Carlmont, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.

Burlingame didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Woodside on the 18th. As for Carlmont, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Menlo-Atherton on the 18th.
