Recap: Salem Hills Skyhawks vs. Timpview Thunderbirds
The Salem Hills Skyhawks lost to the Timpview Thunderbirds back in December of 2020, but the Salem Hills Skyhawks didn't allow the Timpview Thunderbirds the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Salem Hills walked away with a 45-37 win over Timpview.
Salem Hills can attribute much of their success to Reagan Beck, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi King, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Timpview's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Livia Eyre, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds. Eyre hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Lina Ballin, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
Salem Hills' win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Timpview, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salem Hills will face off against Spanish Fork at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Spanish Fork is ranked 48th, while Salem Hills is ranked 30th). As for Timpview, they will head out on the road to face off against Springville at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Springville is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
