Baseball Recap: St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs vs. Redwood Christian Eagles

St. Vincent de Paul came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Redwood Christian Eagles, falling 20-8. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in May of 2015.

Gavin Andres put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Andres was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Andres wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Will Hankins, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. The dominant performance gave Hankins a new career-high in stolen bases.

St. Vincent de Paul now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Redwood Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, St. Vincent de Paul will face off against Sonoma Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Redwood Christian, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Redwood Christian Eagles duke it out with Athenian Owls at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
