The Calvary Christian Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Palm Harbor University Hurricanes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Palm Harbor University will be up against a hot Calvary Christian squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Warriors' pitcher stepped up to hand Indian Rocks Christian a 16-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Katie Kapusta was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julia Tamulski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Kaelyn Dolt also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Calvary Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Palm Harbor University waltzed into their match on Wednesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Green Devils.
Taylor Barr looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.
At the plate, Lana Bathurst was a standout: she scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Olivia Heal, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.
Calvary Christian pushed their record up to 21-1 with the victory, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Palm Harbor University, their record is now 18-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Calvary Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Palm Harbor University struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Calvary Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Palm Harbor University in their previous meeting back in March of 2021, winning 7-3. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Hurricanes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
