Basketball Recap: Creighton Comes Up Short

Creighton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a 41-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plainview Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 60-37 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Plainview got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Riley Miller out in front who dropped a double-double with ten points and 18 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Miller a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Avery Hardisty, who posted 15 points.

Creighton's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Plainview, their record is now 3-19.

Creighton has already played their next matchup, a 44-31 defeat against Neligh-Oakdale on the 18th. As for Plainview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-37 loss against North Central on the 18th.
