Baseball Game Preview: Bogue Chitto Bobcats vs. Loyd Star Hornets

For the second straight game, Bogue Chitto will face off against Loyd Star. Bogue Chitto will be playing in front of their home fans against Loyd Star at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Bogue Chitto will bounce into Friday's match after beating Loyd Star, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Bogue Chitto came out on top against Loyd Star by a score of 8-5 on Tuesday.

Tripp McCaffrey made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. McCaffrey was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Wright, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tucker Kyzar, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Bogue Chitto's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-7. As for Loyd Star, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
