Softball Preview: Olympian Eagles vs. La Costa Canyon Mavericks

The Olympian Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the La Costa Canyon Mavericks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Olympian is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Olympian lost a close one when they played on Thursday but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Saturday was a bit more commanding. Their tough 10-4 defeat to Otay Ranch might stick with them for a while.

Olympian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kamara Watkins, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. NiKayla Flowers was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Meanwhile, La Costa Canyon never let their opponents score last Friday. They came out on top against Mt. Carmel by a score of 3-0. The win was just what La Costa Canyon needed coming off of an 8-0 loss in their prior contest.

Norah Coulsell was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Coulsell has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances.
