Football Recap: Laurens Piles Up the Points Against Southside + How To Watch

Laurens got themselves on the board against Southside on Friday, but Southside never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 58-0 victory over the Tigers. Considering the Raiders' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Laurens' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nehemias Fernandez, who rushed for 42 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also picked up 51 receiving yards and one score. Logan Bragg was another key signal caller, throwing for 172 yards and two TDs on only 16 passes.

Laurens' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Southside, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Laurens will be playing at home against Wren at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will need to watch out since the Hurricanes have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups. As for Southside, they will head out on the road to square off against Emerald at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' defense better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 26.3 points per game this season.
