Football Game Preview: Tindley Tigers vs. Purdue Poly Englewood

The Tindley Tigers will head out on the road to square off against Purdue Poly Englewood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tindley is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games on Friday. They came up short against Monroe Central, falling 45-20. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-12.

Despite their defeat, Tindley saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kenneth Christmon, who threw for 318 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 55 yards and one TD, was perhaps the best of all. Zaiden Long was Christmon's top target, picking up 156 receiving yards and one score.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Purdue Poly Englewood's offense. They had to suffer through a 62-0 loss at the hands of Indianapolis Crispus Attucks. The contest marked the first time this year in which Purdue Poly Englewood was not able to get on the board.

Tindley's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Purdue Poly Englewood, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Tindley didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Purdue Poly Englewood in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, but they still walked away with a 24-18 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Purdue Poly Englewood's Jonquil Muse, who rushed for 100 yards and a pair of TDs.
