Sanford had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt La Veta on Thursday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Redhawks. The win was just business as usual for the Mustangs, who after seven matches remain undefeated this season.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Sanford took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-8, 25-11.

Brinlyn Smith was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 11 digs and five aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in October of 2024. Kasey Gylling also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Sanford was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive matches.

Sanford's record now sits at 7-0. As for La Veta, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Sanford has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Trinidad on the 20th. As for La Veta, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Center on the 19th.
