Softball Game Preview: Union Yellowjackets vs. Calhoun City Wildcats

For the second straight game, Union will face off against Calhoun City. The Yellowjackets will square off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Union will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Union is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past Calhoun City 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Union got a massive performance out of Destiny Moulds, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Moulds is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Tiara Campbell, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Union kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.

Union's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-11. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Calhoun City, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-10.
