Baseball Recap: Coral Springs Charter Wins Going Away Against Deerfield Beach

Coral Springs Charter won the last time they faced Deerfield Beach and things went their way on Tuesday too. Coral Springs Charter put the hurt on Deerfield Beach with a sharp 15-5 win. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

Reid Dadic spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Coral Springs Charter is 5-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Damarion Chung, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Carter Hayden was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Coral Springs Charter is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. Deerfield Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coral Springs Charter will venture away from home to take on Spanish River at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Deerfield Beach, they will head out to challenge Highlands Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
