Baseball Recap: Seminole Comes Up Short

If Seminole was feeling good fresh off their 10-4 takedown of Oviedo last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Seminoles took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions on Friday. The Seminoles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 10-4.

Seminole got a good showing from Marshall Grim, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, Grim didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March.

At the plate, Seminole saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Ethan Park was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Seminole's loss was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Oviedo, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-15 record.

Looking ahead, Seminole will head out to challenge Lake Mary at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oviedo, they have already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Lake Howell on the 7th.
