League recap: Lewis & Clark's Westran jumps in national rankings

Lewis & Clark league recap: 5/14/12

Westran made the biggest jump in the national rankings, moving from 11778 to 11449 thanks to a 1-0 record over the past week. Westran is currently No. 340 in the state of Missouri, with an overall record of 5-5.

Cole Lockhart was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .500 average with three RBIs. His Paris team went 1-1.

The Coyotes' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 10 hits and seven walks to lead the league in both categories. On the season, Paris has allowed just 66 hits, while striking out 75 batters. Alex Thomas leads Paris with 45 strikeouts in 36 innings.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Thomas, who turned in seven Ks for the Coyotes. He's first in the league with 45 total strikeouts.
