Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hilliard). They claimed a resounding 66-30 victory over the Bradford Tornadoes. The Red Flashes not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 6th (when they won 74-30).
Hilliard found their leader in freshman Charlee Matos, who shot 63% from the field to rack up 24 points and three steals. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for Matos. Justice Alderman also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.
Hilliard smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive games.
Hilliard is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Bradford, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Hilliard has already played their next contest, a 58-52 defeat against Bishop Snyder on the 5th. As for Bradford, they will venture away from home to take on Newberry at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
