Soccer Recap: South Gate Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

South Gate and El Camino Real squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but South Gate had to settle for second. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the El Camino Real Royals who were credited with the victory. The El Camino Real Royals got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the South Gate Rams' one. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 190th in California, while the Royals are ranked 12th in California).

South Gate has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-8 record this season. The win was the sixth in a row for El Camino Real, bringing their record for this year to 19-2.

South Gate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for El Camino Real, they will take on Birmingham at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Birmingham will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something El Camino Real surely won't give up without a fight.
