Preview: Omaha Christian Academy vs. Pender
Pender will look to defend their home turf on Thursday against Omaha Christian Academy at 7:00 PM. Pender are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the matchup prepared for a fight.
Pender suffered a grim 26-58 defeat to Emerson-Hubbard last Friday. Despite the defeat, Pender saw an underclassman step up: Sophomore Dylan Vogt caught passes for 80 yards and 2 touchdowns. Trimble has now scored at least one touchdown in the past four games.
Meanwhile, after having lost a blowout in their game two weeks ago against Emerson-Hubbard, Omaha Christian Academy were happy to find some success last Friday. Omaha Christian Academy walked away with a 22-12 win over Cedar Bluffs. The win was a breath of fresh air for Omaha Christian Academy as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.
Omaha Christian Academy's victory lifted them to 1-6 while Pender's loss dropped them down to 3-4. We'll see if Omaha Christian Academy's success rolls on or if Pender are able to steal their positive momentum.
