Bleckley County and Northeast pushed the score to 33-30 the last time they played Northeast, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Royals slipped by the Raiders 14-13. The 14-point effort marked the Royals' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Bleckley County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Joshua Stanley. Bleckley County got some further help from Tug Pasby: he made 11 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Despite the loss, Northeast still got an impressive performance from Tavares Tinsley Jr, who picked up 109 receiving yards and one TD.

Bleckley County's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.6 points on average over those games. As for Northeast, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 5-2.

Looking ahead, after each having a week off, Bleckley County and Dublin will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Royals 14.1, the Fighting Irish 14.4) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Northeast, they will challenge Central at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th.
