Volleyball Recap: Northview Wildcats vs. Clay Eagles

After flying high against Whitmer last Tuesday, Northview came back down to earth. The Northview Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Clay Eagles on Thursday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

The final score came out to 25-19, 19-25, 25-17, 25-16.

Northview's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Resse Clarkson, who had four aces. The dominant performance gave Clarkson a new career-high in aces.

Northview's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Clay, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northview will head out to face off against Gilmour Academy at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. Gilmour Academy is coming into the matchup with five straight wins at home, so Northview will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Clay, they will face off against St. Ursula Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
