Volleyball Recap: Penn's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Penn can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They won by a set and slipped past the Elkhart Lions 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Kingsmen: when they faced off against the Lions back in April, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

Penn wouldn't go down easily and took Elkhart into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-18, 16-25, 25-22, 15-11.

Penn can attribute much of their success to William Selis, who had 20 digs. Those 20 digs gave Selis a new career-high. Kaiden Rojas also deserves some recognition as he had his first dig of the season.

Penn was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in three consecutive matches.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 6-8. As for Elkhart, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.

Penn wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against South Bend Saint Joseph on the 3rd. As for Elkhart, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against DeKalb on the 3rd.
