Soccer Game Preview: Floyd County vs. Alleghany

The Floyd County Buffaloes will face off against the Alleghany Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Floyd County is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Floyd County lost 6-1 to Radford on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Floyd County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Radford are ranked 34th).

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Alleghany and Stuarts Draft meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. Alleghany never let Stuarts Draft get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. That's two games straight that Alleghany has won by exactly two goals.

Floyd County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6-2. As for Alleghany, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
