Soccer Recap: Cabrillo Comes Up Short

If Cabrillo was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of California Academy of Math & Science last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cabrillo Jaguars fell just short of the Narbonne Gauchos by a score of 2-1 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Gauchos are ranked 63rd).

Cabrillo's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3-1. As for Narbonne, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which lines up perfectly with their 4-1-1 record this season.

Cabrillo and Narbonne's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Cabrillo and Millikan (who has only given up 0.25 goals per game) will meet at 5:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Meanwhile, Narbonne will take on Birmingham at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a squad that's only allowed 0.25 goals per game.
