Softball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Timberland's 11th in Last 13 Outings

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Timberland walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Hampton County Hurricanes with a sharp 16-4 win on Wednesday. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by nine runs or more this season.

Lainey Nichols made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Nichols was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Timberland got a massive performance out of Addison Sellars, who earned three RBI, one run, and three stolen bases. Kylee Moody was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Timberland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .528 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Timberland is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games. As for Hampton County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

As of now, neither Timberland nor the Hurricanes have any future games scheduled.
