Recap: Holy Cross Lancers vs. Northern Burlington Greyhounds
The Holy Cross Lancers's three-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Monday. Everything went their way against Northern Burlington as Holy Cross made off with a 63-43 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Holy Cross, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Emmanuel Doku had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double on 27 points and 14 rebounds. Samir Wellington was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five assists.
The win got Holy Cross back to even at 1-1. As for Northern Burlington, they bumped their record down to 0-2 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holy Cross will be home for the holidays to greet Trenton Catholic Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Northern Burlington will be home for the holidays to greet Doane Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Doane Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Monday.
