Baseball Recap: Pearl City Takes a Loss

Pearl City's last matchup with Mililani could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Saturday. The Pearl City Chargers lost 10-2 to the Mililani Trojans. The defeat continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost eight in a row.

Pearl City saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Bernal, who went 2-for-3 with one triple. Caleb Felix also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Even though they lost, Pearl City hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in seven consecutive games.

Pearl City now has a losing record of 3-4-2. As for Mililani, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Pearl City will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Waipahu at 3:00 p.m. on March 26th. Mililani also won't see the field for a while: their next matchup is against Campbell at 3:00 p.m. on March 26th. Mililani's pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so Campbell's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
