Basketball Recap: Newberry Takes a Loss

If Newberry was riding high fresh off their 54-34 takedown of Engadine last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Newberry Indians were dealt a 75-37 loss at the hands of the Pickford Panthers on Monday. The Indians have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Newberry's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Pickford, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newberry will venture away from home to challenge Alanson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pickford, they are taking a road trip to take on St. Ignace at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Pickford's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 matches.
