Warrensburg-Latham hadn't done well against St. Teresa recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Cardinals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Bulldogs. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Warrensburg-Latham got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 21-25, 25-16.

Allison Cushing paced Warrensburg-Latham's offense, picking up eight kills. Cushing got some help from Emma Whightsil and her 15 assists. Ava Kierbs controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

St. Teresa's loss came despite strong showings from Lula Sloan and Avery Harrison. Sloan had 13 digs and two assists, while Harrison had 19 digs, nine kills, and two aces. Sophia Koester also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Warrensburg-Latham's win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for St. Teresa, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Warrensburg-Latham didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Hartsburg-Emden on the 22nd. As for St. Teresa, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Cerro Gordo/Bement on the 22nd.
