Recap: Walnut Ridge Scots vs. Perrysburg Yellow Jackets
It was a good run, but the Walnut Ridge Scots unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to Perrysburg 68-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the defeat, Walnut Ridge saw an underclassman step up: Marquis Lucas scored 27 points along with six rebounds. Those 27 points set a new season-high mark for him. Diondre Thomas Reed was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Walnut Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Perrysburg, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walnut Ridge will be home for the holidays to greet Briggs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Briggs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 717th, while Walnut Ridge is ranked 220th). Perrysburg will be home for the holidays to greet Whitmer at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitmer has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 322 points over their last four matchups.
