Volleyball Recap: DeKalb Takes a Loss

DeKalb was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lake Zurich Bears.

Leading Lake Zurich to victory were Malia McManus and Ella Elsen. McManus had eight digs and three aces, while Elsen had 12 assists. That's the most aces McManus has posted over her last six contests.

DeKalb's defeat dropped their record down to 13-16. As for Lake Zurich, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-10.

DeKalb has already played their next match (against Conant), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Lake Zurich, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Libertyville on the 17th.
